Damascus Steel Kitchen Knife Making Course – 3 days

A unique course for those wanting to learn the legendary art of producing ‘Damascus steel’  to make a kitchen knife of the highest quality and strength of blade.  The process, which broadly involves forging two or more types of steel alloy together in multiple layers, is believed to originate in Middle Age Middle-Eastern sword making. On this course you will get 15N20 and 1095 steel flat bars.  These will be forge-welded together in the gas forge either twisting or folding the steel.  This process is painstaking and takes up the first day and a half. The next day and a half is spent forging, grinding and etching the blade to bring out the desired pattern.

You will come away with a whole range of new practical skills and a kitchen knife of the highest quality. No previous forging experience is needed.
