Join this five week course at The Tetley in Leeds and discover the key layering process and versatility of oil paint with local artist Julia Pomeroy. The course will involve a combination of studying from photos and still-life observational painting to recreate people as colourful and vivid representations, all the while exploring what contemporary painting is. Colour combinations and a range of mark making techniques will be investigated and challenged in these sessions.

In a nutshell

What is it?
This is a date specific evening class starting on Wednesday 13th July 2022. Learn how to paint a portrait or a whole figure, understand the key layering process and versatility of oil paint with local oil painter Julia Pomeroy.

The experience lasts approximately 3 hours.

What you need to know
The event takes place on the Second Floor. There are accessible toilets on our Ground and Second Floors. The lift is located at the rear of the building for access to all floors. Please call the Tetley on 0113 320 2323 or email info@thetetley.org if you have any specific questions about access.
Getting there Please note, there are no onsite parking facilities at The Tetley. The nearest car park is RCP Parking on Sheaf Street, Leeds, LS10 1HD.

How much will it cost?
This 5 week oil painting course costs £130 or £110 to Tetley members for a 3 hour class.
