This is a fantastic experience for anyone with an interest in birds of prey.

The two hour beginners falconry course and bird of prey flying experience takes place in the majestic museum gardens in the centre of York. During your 2 hour experience you will learn how to handle a selection of different birds of prey, prepare a bird for flight, learn the basics of bird care and more. Your experience will take place with an experienced falconer. Following your falconry course you will then enjoy flying a barn owl and a Harris hawk.
This is a beginners experience that will give you a fascinating insight into working with these marvellous creatures whilst learning some interesting facts about the birds that you will handle.

The Two Hour Falconry Course & Bird of Prey Flying Experience is run by ‘Owl Adventures’. Owl Adventures was started in 2011 by Head Falconer Ryan Stocks. Ryan’s passion for working with these majestic creatures started when he worked in a bird of prey centre.

At the core of the business is the welfare of the birds. Owl Adventures exists as a business by always putting the bird at the forefront of the business. Great steps are made to ensure that every bird is cared for and maintained in the best possible way. It is always the bird first, then business second. This is reflected in the passion and enthusiasm that many of the employees and volunteers have when working with and on behalf of Owl Adventures and is evident on any of the bird experiences.
