Where is it?
The half day Spanish cookery course is held at Get Cooking Cookery School, 43a Springfield Centre, Bagley lane, Farsley, Leeds LS28 5LY.

Length of experience
The course runs on selected dates and will start at 1pm and end at approximately 4pm.

What you need to know
Please inform the school on booking your course of anything you would like them to be aware of such as any disability/impairment or dietary requirements.

The course is designed for adults but young people aged 12 and over who are interested in cooking may be accepted by arrangement.

How much will it cost?
The half day Spanish cookery course will cost £50.

To have a boxed and gift wrapped voucher sent by post will cost an additional £3.50.

Half Day Spanish Cookery Course


This collection of half day cookery courses make perfect gifts for busy people. In an afternoon you will explore some key ingredients and typical dishes of the Spanish regions, often eaten as tapas, to inspire and transform what you cook at home.

The Spanish cookery course is available as a vegan option which can be specified when booking.

In the meat eating version:

You will start by rustling up a quick Fabada – from the Asturian region on the northern coast of Spain- a stew of chorizo, morcilla and beans, before making a traditional Spanish Tortilla. When you finish Emily demonstrates how to make pan con tomate with servings of manchego, iberico, olives, anchovies or jambon serrano – all to taste- alongside a trickle of Spanish sherry – if you wish.

In the vegan version:

You will start with a vegan paella (brown rice fried with roasted artichokes and peppers, a little chilli and pimento and maple syrup with a few toasted caraway seeds tossed in served with sprinkled almond flakes) and then make cocas (Catalan flatbread topped with caramelised peppers & aubergines or spinach, pine nuts & sultanas). Before you leave Emily will demonstrate how she makes her Spanish vegan hazelnut helado leaving you inspired with new vegan dishes to cook at home.

Our Half Day Spanish Cookery Course is run by the lovely Emily Carey at her purpose-built cookery school in an impressive mill development in Farsley, surrounded by a whole host of interesting kitchenventures.  Her impressive new kitchen, especially designed for Get Cooking, gives each customer their own cooking station and provides a welcoming and comfortable environment to chill out before and after classes. The premises are completely wheelchair accessible with adjustable work spaces for wheelchair users.

Emily’s believes that food and cooking are one of life’s great pleasures and should be enjoyed and shared and this really comes across in her passion for food and teaching others how to create dishes they can easily re-create at home.

Emily runs a range of cookery courses including healthy eating and bread making.
