A private wheel throwing session for two people at The Clay Place Scarborough! This exclusive 2-hour session is perfect for both beginners and experienced potters. Participants will receive personalised guidance from our expert instructors, all necessary materials and tools, and a welcoming environment to create unique pottery pieces. This session offers a memorable and hands-on experience. The Clay Place is owned and run by The Great Pottery Throwdown contestant Rebecca Norris
The price of the workshop includes glazing and firing for 3 pieces. They will be ready to collect approximately 3 weeks after the experience. There are a selection of glazes to choose from. Postage can be arranged at an extra cost.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an adult only experience, although enthusiastic teenagers can be accommodated in some circumstances. Get in touch to enquire.

The Pottery Wheel Throwing Experience in Scarborough for Two People is run by Rebecca Norris Designs.
Rebecca Norris is an artist living in North Yorkshire who takes her inspiration from her love of colour, her quirky personality and print design. She is a qualified teacher and has many years of experience working with children, adults and students with special educational needs.
I hope that my makes can inspire others to have a go at being creative.
Rebecca’s experience of being a contestant on The Great Pottery Throwdown in 2023 has given her a new found confidence in her work and allowed her to be experimental and try things she never would have before.
Pottery workshops are held at The Clay Place, 1 Hoxton Road, Scarborough, YO12 7ST.
Pottery workshops usually run for two hours.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
The price includes all materials and equipment, 3 pots created by participants and chosen glazes will be provided. Tuition for 2 hours is provided.
The fee does not include any tools or equipment to take home. It does not include delivery of makes.
Participants will be notified by email when their work is ready to collect. Work will be ready usually within 3 weeks. On occasion, this may take longer depending on firing schedules. Participants must collect their pots within 30 days of the participant being notified they are ready to collect. If the date exceeds the 30 days the pots will be destroyed due to lack of storage.
Postage can be arranged at the cost of the participant.
Sessions are open to all adults. Enthusiastic teenagers can also attend on agreement before booking.
