Where is it?
The bushcraft experiences take place in picturesque woodland just off the A19 near Huby, on the outskirts of North York.

Length of experience
The experience is offered as a 2 hour session (morning, afternoon or evening).

What you need to know

Evening session only available April to August.
Maximum number of participants: 6.
Minimum age for child groups: 6 years.
Minimum age for child with hand tools option: 8 years.
There must be at least one participating adult in the group.
Hot and cold drinks provided free of charge.
This is an outdoors experience and will normally take place whatever the weather; participants must wear appropriate clothing for the time of year and weather conditions.
In the event that the event is cancelled by Forest Quest for any reason including extreme weather, an alternative date will in the first instance be arranged; should this not be possible, the Buyer is entitled to a full refund.

How much will it cost?
A two hour Bushcraft session (morning, afternoon, or evening starting 10:00, 14:00 or 18:00) costs £150 for up to 6 people. Please note, evening sessions start mid April to end August.

To have a boxed and gift wrapped voucher sent by post will cost an additional £3.50.

Two Hour Bushcraft Experience near York

£150.00 FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE

A wonderful gift for a group of up to 6 people who would love spending time together in a peaceful, magical setting learning new and transferable skills under Andrew’s expert guidance.

Your bushcraft experience will last 2 hours and your can choose one of:

  • Fire Lighting. Build and light a fire safely using various techniques including the fire bow-drill.
  • Hand Tools. Use a knife and saw safely and have a go at making a useful camp utensil.  (children must be at least 8 years old for this option).
  • Shelter Building. Have a go at this essential survival skill; put up a bivouac shelter and build a shelter made from natural resources.
  • Pioneering. Learn some useful knots and work as a team to construct a bridge over the stream.
  • Geocaching. Have a go at navigating in the woods, use a handheld GPS receiver, locate hidden drop boxes, and solve the clues to take the prize!
  • Nature Discovery. A guided walk through the wood, discovering the trees, the birds, and the animals that live there.
  • Initiative Challenges. Work as a team to overcome challenges and improve your teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Basket Making.  Make a basket from natural willow.

The experience runs throughout the year and can be booked on a morning, afternoon or evening (April to August).
