Join us for a fantastic silver ring making experience and discover the magic of silver clay.
Level: beginner
Come and join Richard Allen of Pepper Tree Studio for a superb introduction to ring making with silver clay. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make your own silver ring then this workshop is for you.
During a packed 6 hours you will learn all about the basics of working with silver clay including setting up your workstation, preparation, texturing and drying. So no previous experience needed.
From there you will learn how to create your own silver ring, size it, shape and texture it. And, once it’s been fired in a kiln, you will be shown how to polish and finish your work ready to take home.
All tools, materials and silver clay are provided so there’s no need to bring anything with you.

The Silver Clay Ring Making Workshop in West Yorkshire is led by Richard Allen, the creative force behind Pepper Tree Studio, who has over 40 years of experience in jewellery design and restoration. As a master of silver clay, copper clay, and base metal clays, Richard’s work is inspired by capturing the beauty of nature, garden and marine plants and, by contrast, modern concrete structures. His passion for detail shines through in every piece, drawing on techniques like filigree, keum-boo, and the delicate craftsmanship of Japanese silver clay work. His talent has been recognised globally, with his work featured at the prestigious International Silver Accessories Contest in Tokyo and at the Galleria Legnica, Poland along with several exhibitions across the UK, including The Open Gallery in Halifax, Millennium Gallery, Sheffield, Cluster Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition in London and 2 showcase exhibitions at Forge in Hatton Garden, London.
At Pepper Tree Studio, Richard offers a range of workshops, catering to all skill levels, so whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, you’ll find a warm welcome and expert guidance.
