£390.00 FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE
A fantastic group stand up paddle board (SUP) river trip experience from Ripon to Boroughbridge. This adventure experience follows the picturesque River Ure in Yorkshire for 11km (7 miles) and is approximately a 5 hour round trip. Your adventure will begin at Boroughbridge where you will meet one of the qualified stand up paddle board instructors and be taken by minibus or taxi to Ripon. Before entering the water you’ll be given a safety briefing. Once your safety briefing is completed you’ll be kitted out and will get onto the SUP – now the adventure really begins!
Leaving Ripon you will paddle to Boroughbridge, stopping on route for an ‘Alfresco’ lunch at the scenic West Wick Lock. There is also the optional stop at Newby Hall and Gardens if you fancy a nosey round or an ice cream (there is an additional cost to enter the grounds which is payable to Newby Hall).
You will be kitted out with:
- A wetsuit
- A cag (a protective layer helping to keep you dry, trap heat and reduce wind chill)
- A paddle
- A buoyancy aid
- A waterproof bag to keep, spare clothing, keys or valuable items safe
Throughout the river trip your qualified instructor will be on hand to teach you the basic techniques involved in stand up paddle boarding such as paddling, steering and staying in control of your board. This trip is a great day out for families, friends, stag and hen parties and team development days. It is suitable for all abilities from the age of 12 upwards.
