Learn the basics of blacksmithing with artist Piers Edsall on this full day course at the Environmental Art Workshop in Malton.

You will learn the basic techniques of hot metalworking and Piers will help you to work on a unique item of your own to take home.

You will be working with a zero carbon induction forge, using renewable energy. This experience will give you an introduction to the traditional techniques used in blacksmithing with a company that puts sustainability at the heart of their business.

Lunch plus all equipment and materials provided.

This experience is also available as a two hour taster and a half day session

What will I get? You will receive a voucher to redeem against any of the future One Day Blacksmithing Course.

Anything I should know?

Due to the technical nature of the course it is only suitable for ages 16+.

Maximum group size is 2.

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Can I exchange it? All of our vouchers are fully flexible. The recipient may swap to another experience if they don’t want the one that has been suggested.

How will it arrive? Our eco-friendly voucher boxes are available for £4.50 and will be sent via Royal Mail first class post. PDF e-vouchers are FREE and emailed shortly after ordering.

Blacksmith Workshop at Zero Carbon Induction Forge

The Blacksmith Workshops are taught by artist blacksmith Piers Edsall at the Environmental Art Workshop in Malton.

Piers creates modern, often sculptural, work using traditional blacksmithing techniques and his zero carbon induction forge, using renewable energy.

We are a circular design and manufacture creating products and supplying services for more sustainable living. In our work we also hope to educate and inspire people into living, enjoying and working in a sustainable way.
