Learn the basics of blacksmithing with artist Piers Edsall at the Environmental Art Workshop in Malton. Choose from a two hour (taster course), a half day (4 hour session) or a full day (8 hour session including lunch).
Each course will introduce participants to the basic techniques of hot metalworking and Piers will assist them to create a unique item of their very own to take home with them.
Working with a zero carbon induction forge, using renewable energy you will learn traditional techniques with a company that puts sustainability at the heart of their business.
Where is it? The blacksmith sessions are held at Environmental Art Workshop in Malton.
Length of experience Choose from a two hour workshop, a 4 hour workshop or an 8 hour, full day workshop.
What you need to know Minimum age of participants is 16.
How much will it cost? A Two Hour Blacksmithing Taster Course costs £60, a half day session costs £100 and a full day session including lunch costs £180 per person.

The Blacksmith Workshops are taught by artist blacksmith Piers Edsall at the Environmental Art Workshop in Malton.
Piers creates modern, often sculptural, work using traditional blacksmithing techniques and his zero carbon induction forge, using renewable energy.
