On this immersive walk, you’ll meet around 20-24 plants – and you’ll get to touch, taste, and smell them as you learn.
This experience is all about personal connection. With Di’s one-on-one guidance, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and chat as you go, making it the perfect way to learn more about sustainable living.
The price is per private booking, not per person, so whether you’re coming alone or bringing a friend, this walk is an ideal gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or just because! Families are welcome too – children under 14 can join in as part of the group.
You set the date and time when you make contact with Di. Foraging is best from late April to mid-November, so book during these months for the full experience The walk takes place at Wild Harvest School on the rural outskirts of York, with parking and facilities on site.

Just outside York, you’ll find Wild Harvest School, where founder Di Hammill shares her passion for living simply and sustainably. With over 20 years of experience, Di is a recognised leader in natural living and self-reliance, often called upon to share her expertise at national events and in the media.
Di’s background is as diverse as it is impressive: she’s a qualified Adult Education tutor, Permaculture Designer, Natural Beekeeper, Survival Medic, and Archery GB Instructor. She’s even a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and a Member of the Association of Foragers! Di’s passion for teaching others how to live more in tune with nature is at the heart of every course she runs, from wild food foraging to sustainable crafts.
At Wild Harvest School, Di offers both day and residential courses designed to empower people with practical skills for a more self-reliant lifestyle. Her down-to-earth approach, combined with a deep respect for nature, makes learning with Di a truly unique experience. Whether you’re taking a private foraging walk or exploring other courses on offer, you’ll be learning from one of the UK’s leading experts in natural, sustainable living.
Your walk will begin at Wild Harvest School which is located at a farm on the rural outskirts of York.
