A fabulous art experience day, for those wanting to try out a number of drawing and painting techniques, and for those looking to improve upon their painting skills. Located in the beautiful market town of Penistone, on the edge of the stunning Peak District National Park.
You will be warmly welcomed by your hosts Paul and Sophie when you arrive at Lyndene Art Studio, starting the day with tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes. Just make sure you leave some room for Sophie’s delicious freshly cooked lunch and desert!
Paul will introduce you to a range of techniques using a variety of materials, on different surfaces. Drawing, sketching, painting and experimenting with mediums, which could include charcoal, oil pastel, soft pastel, watercolour, acrylics, mixed media and ink. Full demonstrations and support will be given throughout the day and there will be plenty of time to complete a selection of artwork to take home.
Taster Art Experience next to the Peak District by Lyndene Art Studio
Lyndene Art Studio is run by Paul and Sophie Robinson. Inspired by their surroundings and photography, Paul often creates his own artwork using mainly watercolour, oil and mixed media. He has exhibited his own work in Hong Kong, Dubai and throughout the UK. As well as creating his own artwork, Paul is passionate about teaching art. He has been an art educator for over 30 years and has designed and delivered courses and workshops to adults and children, all over the world.
The workshops at Lyndene Art Studio are set in a relaxed atmosphere, where everyone is made to feel very welcome. People regularly attend a course whilst combining a visit to the beautiful Peak District National Park.
This experience will take place Lyndene Art Studio in the rural market town of Penistone.
The workshop will run on a Saturday 10am until 3:30pm

This course is suitable for adult beginners and artists with some prior experience.
All materials are provided
The minimum age is 14 (ages 14 – 18, must be accompanied by an adult).
Refreshments will be available on arrival and lunch will be provided.
The Taster Art Experience costs £75 per person
Paul the host made everyone feel welcome at the Art Experience day today. It didn’t matter whether you were an absolute beginner or not, Paul talked us through step by step how to use water colours & the use of different techniques to enhance our work. If you had knowledge already he adapted to the individual needs to ensure everyone was able to enjoy the day. We were a group of 6 people who did not know each other but due to the relaxed atmosphere we all got along nicely & able to share our works of art & have some fun on the way.
Lunch was provided which was Jacket potato with salad. It was freshly cooked & there was plenty for everyone with seconds if wanted!! There was also a cheesecake for dessert & plenty of hot drinks, biscuits & chocolate cakes on hand.
The setting was in a newly converted studio with good seating arrangements, log fire & lots of props to stimulate ideas for your creations.
It was definitely a unique experience & I would highly recommend it & I will be hoping to return for some more creativity & learning in the near future.
