What’s the story behind West Yorkshire Alpacas?

The six alpaca boys were bred on an alpaca farm in the Cotswolds and then moved to the farm I grew up on which is near Buxton in Derbyshire. They moved to West Yorkshire in 2020 to spread the joy.

Ponies at West Yorkshire Alpacas

We have recently taken on two Shetland ponies which we are training up to join the animal experiences too.

Who should come and meet the alpacas?

The experience is great for anyone who enjoys spending time with animals. We try to accommodate for any particular needs and requests where possible. We have a lot of families and couples visiting. It’s a great experience to make memories and get silly selfies.

What do you love most about your job?

I love to see the guests happy faces when they connect with the alpacas. The alpacas always do something unpredictable and entertaining.

If you could invite anyone (alive or dead) to meet your alpacas who would you ask?

I think the queen would definitely appreciate the alpacas. We could try an do an alpaca race for her.

Where’s your favourite place in Yorkshire?

Shibden Hall is my favourite. It’s a lovely place to spend the day and has amazing history. Definitely worth a visit.

Who inspires you in business and in life?

My mother is an ambitious and successful entrepreneur and supports me through everything. It was her who originally brought the alpacas to our family.
