A fabulously unique experience for the horticulturally creative out there! You will learn all about terrariums, how these self-contained ecosystems survive so well on their own and how to look after them.
The session will start with a short introduction explaining the history and science that goes into building a terrarium, from the different plants you can use to why activated charcoal has become the special ingredient.
After this intro you’ll be able to flex your green fingers and get creative with your own garden. You will be supplied with a Tinyjohn Jar which you will fill with various plants and an arrangement of pebbles and moss.
Feel free to ask any questions of your knowledgeable host, Layla, and by the end of the session you’ll have your own exciting miniature garden to take away and watch develop over the next months and years.
Experience includes:
- Your tinyjohn glass terrarium and cork,
- Various plants, pebbles, compost, charcoal and moss,
- Care guides and bag to take your tinyjohn home.
Yorkshire Terrarium Workshop
The Yorkshire Terrarium Workshop is run by Layla, founder of York Terrariums, who started the business out of a passion for gardening and the outdoors.
Layla successfully ran terrarium workshops across London before deciding to relocate the business to Yorkshire in 2020.
The workshops are held at various locations in York. From time to time workshops are held in other Yorkshire locations including Leeds and Doncaster.
This is a two hour workshop.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
Your voucher can be used to book on any of Layla's Tinyjohn Terrarium workshops which are located throughout Yorkshire on selected dates throughout the year.
The terrarium workshop costs £55.
