Set just a minute’s walk from the Shambles, MeowCraft’s colourful York studio is home to a wonderfully satisfying creative experience that doesn’t require any previous artistic skill.

Each guest begins by choosing an art figure before selecting their favourite colours and learning how to use fluid acrylic paints to transform it into a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

Rather than carefully painting within the lines, fluid art is all about pouring, combining and experimenting with colour. As the paints flow across the figure, unexpected patterns and effects begin to appear, meaning no two finished creations will ever be quite the same.

The MeowCraft team guides guests through the process step by step, with all paints, materials, aprons and gloves provided. It’s relaxed, colourful and pleasingly unpredictable, making it a brilliant creative activity for adults, teenagers and children aged five and over.

Located in King’s Court in central York, the studio is perfectly placed for anyone looking for something a little different to do during a day in the city.

The experience works equally well as a creative date, family activity, birthday treat or an excuse for friends to spend some time making something together.

Once the masterpiece is complete, guests can also wander around the corner to MeowCraft’s café and shop on the historic Shambles, home to handmade gifts, DIY craft kits and artwork from local artists, with coffee, bubble tea and cold drinks available too.
