A photo walk can be the perfect way to unleash your creativity and explore a city from a new and interesting perspective. On our 3 hour York photo walk and photography workshop you will take your camera around the many and varied landmarks that are situated in York city centre and learn how to capture the best images of one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.

With expert tips and tuition from Stewart Waite you will explore photography techniques, camera settings and the “Exposure Triangle”.

You will meet your fellow photographers for a coffee and safety brief and Stewart will outline the route and the aims for the experience.
Study York Minster* ( 45 min ) – camera work
Museum Gardens* ( 45 min ) – camera work

*Locations can vary upon local activities and weather.

You will be encouraged to take lots of photos and given advise throughout the session – tripods are welcome!!

What you need to know

What will I get? You will receive a voucher to redeem against any of the future Group Photo Walk & Photography Workshop in York.

Anything I should know?

There photography walk will be approximately 2 miles so all participants must be fit and able to walk this distance.

Group sizes can vary from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 people.

The Photography walk and workshop takes place on Saturdays and Sundays only.

Cancellation notice period is 24hrs notice by either party ( inclement weather would tend to spoil this experience so an alternative date would be arranged. )

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Can I exchange it? All of our vouchers are fully flexible. The recipient may swap to another experience if they don’t want the one that has been suggested.

How will it arrive? Our eco-friendly voucher boxes are available for £4.50 and will be sent via Royal Mail first class post. PDF e-vouchers are FREE and emailed shortly after ordering.

Meet the Experience Provider

Our Group Photo Walk & Photography Workshop in York is led by the very talented Stewart Waite, a self taught Yorkshire born photographer based in York.

Stewart uses the local landscape to inspire his work and much of his work takes inspiration from both the Yorkshire and Cumbrian Landscapes where most of his time is spent.

He presents his work in both colour and monotones, preferring to allow the viewer to look at the image from abstract angles.

Stewart’s work is inspired by many local artists and photographers.

Stewart offers a one to one Photo Walk and Photography Workshop in addition to the group experience.
