A photo walk can be the perfect way to unleash your creativity and explore a city from a new and interesting perspective. On our 3 hour York One to One Photography Workshop and Photo Walk in York you will take your camera around the many and varied landmarks that are situated in York city centre and learn how to capture the best images of one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.
With expert tips and tuition from Stewart Waite you will explore photography techniques, camera settings and the “Exposure Triangle”.
- You will meet for a coffee and safety brief and Stewart will outline the route and the aims for the experience.
- Study York Minster* ( 45 min ) – camera work
- Museum Gardens* ( 45 min ) – camera work
*Locations can vary upon local activities and weather.
You will be encouraged to take lots of photos and given advise throughout the session – tripods are welcome!!
Our One to One Photography Workshop and Photo Walk in York is led by the very talented Stewart Waite, a self taught Yorkshire born photographer based in York.
Stewart uses the local landscape to inspire his work and much of his work takes inspiration from both the Yorkshire and Cumbrian landscapes where most of his time is spent.
He presents his work in both colour and monotones, preferring to allow the viewer to look at the image from abstract angles.
Stewart’s work is inspired by many local artists and photographers.
Stewart offers a group Photo Walk and Photography Workshop in addition to the one-to-one experience.
There photography walk will take place at various locations throughout York. The exact route will depend on local activities and weather conditions.
The photography walk will last approximately 3 hours.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
There photography walk will be approximately 2 miles so participants must be fit and able to walk this distance.
The Photography walk and workshop takes place on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Cancellation notice period is 24hrs notice by either party ( inclement weather would tend to spoil this experience so an alternative date would be arranged. )
The One to One Photography Workshop and Photo Walk in York costs £150.
Wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you once again for your time on Saturday in York. It was a brilliant few hours and I learnt a number of new hints / tips / tricks to help me progress with my photography skills. I was inspired so much that I went to York station afterwards to take a few pictures of the architecture in there!
I also enjoyed the image processing when I got home and have a number of favourites of the Minster in particular (the sun flare technique came out fab!)
