Treat someone (or yourself) with this gentle introduction to pen turning. Spend time learning a new skill and creating something beautiful to take home. All of Neil’s courses can be tailored to the needs of the individual, whether you are a novice, beginner, or want to explore a different aspect to your hobby.
The pen turning courses include a choice of wooden blanks and basic pen kits. Higher quality pen kits will be available to purchase for an extra charge on the day.
All courses include materials and personal safety equipment needed for the duration of the course. All courses are run by a professional with a qualification in managing safety, and in woodworking machine safety, with over 14 years experience in the education sector. Courses start and end times can be varied slightly to suit.
A half day course is approximately 4 hours, including breaks.
Refreshments are included. Special dietary requirements can be catered for if notified in advance.
Introduction to Pen Turning Woodturning Experience in York
Our Introduction to Pen Turning Woodturning Experience in York is taught by professional wood worker Neil Lawton. Neil runs the courses from his purpose built Atelier workshop in his beautiful garden in the historic city of York.
In addition to the Pen Turning Experience, Neil also offers Small Box Turning Experience and an Introduction to Bowl Turning Experience.
The Pen Turning Experience takes place in York at Neil's dedicated garden workshop.
A 1/2 day course is 4 hours including breaks for refreshments.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
Courses are suitable for ages 10 and over. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The Pen Turning Experience is £93 per person.
