Using WhatsApp, you’ll receive a series of clues that guide you through the city. The answers are hidden in the streets, buildings and landmarks around you. Solve each puzzle to unlock your next destination, with three independent food stops waiting along the way, each including a delicious dish.

From traditional fillings to creative modern twists, you’ll unlock three handpicked venues serving their own take on this much-loved classic. Every destination remains hidden until you’ve earned it by solving the puzzles.

Between food stops, you’ll race against the clock as you tackle the next challenge. Your time is tracked on a live leaderboard, but the timer pauses while you eat, giving you plenty of time to relax before setting off again. If you need a little help, hints and answers are available through WhatsApp, although they’ll add a time penalty to your final score.

Whether you’re visiting Manchester for the first time or have lived here for years, this experience offers a fresh way to explore the city. Visitors discover its independent food scene, while lifelong Mancunians often report finding hidden gems they never knew existed.

Going with children? The included food is designed to satisfy an adult appetite, so younger children may find there’s more than enough to share. Many families choose one ticket for two young children, allowing them to enjoy the experience half-price.

What will I get? You will receive a voucher to book a Food Escapes Tour & Puzzle Game Experience for One or Two People

  • Dates are subject to availability.
  • This experience is recommended for groups of 2-7 people, if you wish to add on additional guests then multiple vouchers can be redeemed together.
  • Are the games suitable for children?
    The games are more suited to chidlren aged 9 and over.There’s a few things to consider, every child is different so please be your own judge:

    • A Food Escape is a 2-3 hour experience and requires walking around the city – may be a lot for some little legs!
    • The quantity of food included on each escape is enough food to leave an adult full. But for young children, it will be too much. If you do want to take younger children, you are welcome to buy 1 extra person for 2 children and have them share the food. e.g. 2 adults and 2 younger children = 3 tickets and the children can share. This also makes it half price for younger kids.
    • You are more than welcome to take along children who are not eating at the restaurants i.e. infants in pushchairs, at no additional cost.
    • The puzzles are sent over WhatsApp. Kids who can read well will enjoy playing and reading the clues as they come through. It also requires thought and reasoning to solve some clues. While majority of clues will be solved by finding things around you, e.g. answers hidden in the architecture or the streets around you (all of which would be suitable for any age), some will also need some light maths or common culture knowledge where an adult would need to help.
  • Please note that this game is not suitable for those with eggs, soya or sulphites allergies or for a vegan diet.

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Can I exchange it? All of our vouchers are fully flexible. The recipient may swap to another experience if they don’t want the one that has been suggested.

How will it arrive? Our eco-friendly voucher boxes are available for £3.98 and will be sent via Royal Mail first class post. PDF e-vouchers are FREE and emailed shortly after ordering.
