One on one night photography course with post processing in lightroom

£150.00 PER PERSON

Have you a DSLR camera? have you ever fancied taking cityscapes/seascapes in the dark? Wonder how it’s done? Then join Andrew Throup from JPO Photography on a ‘One on One Night Photography Walkabout’.  Locations currently include York and Whitby but if you have a specific location in mind this could potentially be accommodated.

The walkabout will include tips on settings, F stop, ISO and Shutter Speed and how they all work together to produce great night images. After the walkabout you’ll seek refuge in a local pub or cafe and download some of your images from the night into Lightroom. From here Andrew will show you how to edit the photos and what a typical workflow looks like from start to finish.

The walkabout itself will last approximately 2.5 hours, followed by roughly 1 hour post processing and a free drink.

What you will need:

  • A good set of walking legs.
  • A DSLR camera that you can put in ‘M’, manual mode.
  • Your widest lens if you have a few, e.g. 24, 18, 16mm etc, most cameras come standard with a zoom 24 – 120mm or something similar which is fine.
  • A tripod to support you camera.
  • Warm jacket, gloves and a hat for the cold wintery nights.

This is a one on one experience so you’ll get Andrew’s full attention on the night making it a truly great gift. You’ll also get to see how to edit the images, start to finish which isn’t included on the group courses.

Night time photography course vouchers can be bought throughout the year but the experience can only be booked September to April when the nights are dark enough / not too late in the evening.  2019 dates available now.

One on one night photography course with post processing in lightroom

Our brilliant One one One Night Photography Course is run by Andrew Throup of JPO Photography. Andrew’s passion and inspiration for photography started in childhood.

Growing up, surrounded by the natural beauty of Yorkshire, with many days out to places like the North Yorkshire moors, Robin Hoods Bay and the medieval City of York instilled a passion in me to create memories I could return to again and again, through images that captured the warmth and happy feelings I felt in the places I visited. Whilst I take many pictures using natural light, I have also developed and honed various techniques of my own using artificial light alongside natural light to create some truly stunning pictures effects. This is also something I teach on my photography courses.
