The perfect gift for someone moving to a new house, for someone you know who wants to have a go at making their own Roman Blinds or a just a fun activity to do with friends.
Join Alison in her home studio, in the beautiful Holme Valley and learn how to make your own stunning Roman Blinds.
Whether you are a beginner, or have some sewing experience, this workshop is designed for you.
This is a one-day roman blind workshop in which you will learn how to measure for and make a hand finished, lined and interlined roman blind to a professional standard. You will look at suitable fabrics, different types of lining and trims and discuss Child Safety regulations.
You will make a complete, sample sized Roman Blind which you can refer back to when working on your own Roman Blinds at home.

- Morning refreshments
- Homemade lunch
- Afternoon Tea/Coffee and cake
- Comprehensive set of instructions
- All fabric and equipment provided.
Sewing machines and other equipment are provided, however if you would prefer to bring your own please do (it’s always easier using your own, familiar machine).
The aim of the day is to have fun, learn a new skill and make something beautiful for your home.
Roman Blind Making Workshop
The Roman Blind Making Workshop is hosted by the very talented Alison Marsden at Allium Bespoke. Alison is passionate about design, fabulous textiles and ‘making things’ and wants her clients to leave the workshop with fabulous soft furnishings to make their homes beautiful.
Located in the beautiful Holme Valley near Holmfirth, Allium Bespoke workshops are easily accessible by car from Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefiled and Huddersfield.
Allium Bespoke workshops are the perfect way to learn how to make your own soft furnishings, while enjoying a day out, with delicious home made lunches and afternoon tea included.
Alison runs a range of soft furnishings workshops including : Lampshade Making, Cushion Making and Curtain Making
The workshop will take place in the home studio of Alison Marsden in the beautiful Holme Valley near Holmfirth.
The workshop starts at 10am (arrival from 9.30am) and finishes at approximately 5pm.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
Although some sewing experience would be helpful this workshop is suitable for beginners. The maximum group size will be 4 people. This workshop is not suitable for under 16s.
The Roman Blind Making Workshop is a full day and costs £150 for one person including tuition, materials, lunch and refreshments on the day.
