Pottery Throwing and Painting Experience for One Person Near Leeds

This hands-on Pottery Throwing & Painting Experience is a cracking pick for anyone who loves getting creative, especially as a thoughtful Christmas present. Instead of yet more “stuff”, it gives them two relaxing hours in the studio and a handmade piece they will actually want to keep.

Over the course of the 2 hour session, they will spend the first hour at the potter’s wheel making one piece of their choice. It could be a cosy hug mug, a characterful bowl or a plant pot ready for their favourite greenery. The clay is already centred for them, so they can focus on learning how to pull, shape and refine their chosen form. With around 40 years of teaching experience, Rachel gently guides them through each step so even complete beginners can achieve something they are proud of.

Once the throwing is done, the creative fun continues. For the second hour they head to the painting area, where Cath helps them bring their pot to life with colour, pattern and personal touches. Think relaxing cuppa in hand, brushes at the ready and plenty of time to play with glazes and designs. After the session, the studio team will glaze and fire the piece so it is fully finished and food safe, ready to collect within 4 weeks.

It is a lovely, mindful experience for anyone who needs a bit of switch-off time, and a brilliant gift idea for Christmas, birthdays or just because. They walk away with new skills, happy memories and a handmade piece that is uniquely theirs.
