Authentic Thai cooking class in Coxwold with expert tuition and lunch.
This hands-on Thai cooking class in North Yorkshire offers the chance to learn authentic Thai cookery from an expert with more than 25 years of teaching experience. Jimmy has taught professional chefs and home cooks alike, most recently at her own Thai cookery school in Bangkok, and now brings that knowledge to the charming Coxwold Tearoom in the heart of rural Yorkshire.
Set in the picturesque village of Coxwold, just north of York in beautiful James Herriot country, this small group cooking experience is ideal for anyone looking to discover the flavours, techniques and ingredients behind real Thai food. During the class, guests will be guided through the preparation of three authentic Thai dishes, learning practical skills they can recreate at home long after the day is over.
Once the cooking is done, guests can sit back and enjoy their freshly made dishes in the tearoom or pack everything up to take home. It is a relaxed, friendly and immersive food experience that combines expert tuition with the warm welcome of an independent Yorkshire venue.
For those wanting to turn the class into a wider getaway, bed and breakfast accommodation is also available. Coxwold is perfectly placed for exploring some of North Yorkshire’s best-loved attractions, from Shandy Hall and Byland Abbey to the iconic White Horse of Kilburn, Helmsley and the North York Moors. Whether booked as a foodie gift, a memorable day out near York, or part of a longer Yorkshire escape, this Thai cooking class serves up something a bit special.

We have just returned home after spending a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with the lovely Jimmy who originally hails from north eastern Thailand but is now to be found in the Coxwold Tea Room.
She entertained us with her knowledge of all things Thai whilst at the same time helping us appreciate the wonderful experience of creating authentic Thai dishes.
This was a great way to acquire new knowledge and skills without feeling any “Master Chef” pressures or expectations.
We now look forward to enjoying tonight the dishes we brought home.
We highly recommend you give this a go; you certainly won’t be disappointed.
Thank you Jimmy (and Keith who kept the kitchen work area clean and tidy)
