The Ultimate Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) Experience Day

This unique experience is perfect any super sleuths or true crime enthusiasts. It’s also the perfect insight for those with an interest in the world of forensics & policing as a potential career path. Each experience is hosted by experts including CSI’s, forensic scientists, crash investigators, senior investigating officers and major crime detectives who are waiting to put participants through their paces.

The CSI Experience (AM) begins with a hands-on introduction to how a case really unfolds. This allows you to get an idea of the scale of an investigation, the different teams involved, resources needed and how they all collaborate. You’ll then learn different forensic techniques, so you’re trained up and ready to process evidence when you get out to your crime scene. Be it murder, kidnap – it’s up to you to find out what’s happened and solve the crime. Using legitimate techniques you will examine evidence including:

• Developing & Lifting Fingerprints
• Casting & Lifting Footwear Marks
• Photographing Scenes
• Gathering Evidence
• Communicating via Radios

For the ‘Digging Deeper into Forensics’ afternoon workshop, you will again explore the evidence behind a high-profile crime. In this session you will learn about forensic entomology, toxicology, DNA analysis and more, as well as analysing blood spatter patterns and the science behind them.
