This is not a replica cockpit. Guests will be flying from the original restored upper deck of Boeing 747-400 G-BYGA, a genuine aircraft that retired from British Airways service in March 2020.

The 45-minute session includes up to four people, who can choose to fly, spectate or share the time between them. Under the guidance of an experienced flight instructor, guests will settle into the captain’s or first officer’s seat and experience what it is like to pilot one of the most iconic passenger aircraft ever built.

The simulator features original 747 cockpit components, a 180-degree wraparound screen and a highly immersive flight deck set-up, giving families the thrill of take-offs, landings and scenic flights across destinations around the world. Whether they fancy flying over Manhattan, tackling the famous Kai Tak approach, soaring past the Golden Gate Bridge or recreating the Hudson River landing, the session can be tailored to suit the group.

The experience begins with a short introduction and cockpit familiarisation, where the instructor explains the basic controls and instruments.
