A Morning with the Herd Eat, Sleep, Ride near Berwick Upon Tweed
Eat Sleep Ride CIC is a social enterprise founded by Danielle McKinnon, whose own experiences of socioeconomic disadvantage helped shape a strong belief in the power of horses, community and opportunity.
With more than 20 years of experience working with, riding and training horses, Danielle has developed particular expertise in behavioural cases, physical rehabilitation and the development of young horses. That depth of knowledge sits at the heart of Eat Sleep Ride, alongside a passionate commitment to helping people build confidence, skills and a stronger sense of connection.
Based in the Scottish Borders, Eat Sleep Ride creates welcoming, inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy time with horses. The organisation works particularly closely with young people, including those from rural communities, care backgrounds and families facing challenging circumstances, supporting them to recognise their own potential and the positive role they can play within their communities.
The team offers a wide range of equestrian experiences and services, from riding lessons and hacks to professional pathway training, equine therapy and holistic horse care. Their experienced instructors include a BHS Stage 4 Coach, trauma-informed practitioners and Masterson Technique practitioners, bringing together professional equestrian expertise with a thoughtful, individual approach.
Eat Sleep Ride is approved by the Association of British Riding Schools and licensed in the Scottish Borders, with horse welfare, safety and high-quality instruction at the centre of everything they do.
More than simply a place to ride, Eat Sleep Ride is a community where people can spend time outdoors, develop new skills and experience the very special connection that can grow between people and horses.
