We are very excited to be working in partnership with Schiewe Ceramics to bring you this fantastic experience.
Artist Sarah Schiewe will take you on a journey of self-expression and creativity on this bespoke personalised ceramic sculpture experience. Crafted just for you by Sarah, this unique opportunity invites you to translate your memories and cherished moments into a work of art. Whether it’s capturing milestones, passions, or the essence of your personality, Sarah will guide you through the process, ensuring that every detail reflects your individuality. Embrace this chance to immortalise your story in stone, creating a timeless masterpiece that celebrates the richness of your life.
Sarah will get to know you through a lengthy consultation where she will ask you to think about what makes you unique. At the start of this journey of discovery you will be provided a gift experience journal, this will encourage you to think about the subjects you will discuss during your consultation. Your consultation will take place via a video call and will last between 1-1.5 hours, please bring your notes to this session. All information provided remains confidential.
Upon hearing your story, Sarah will be drawn to elements of it, and this is how the creative process starts. Following your consultation, Sarah will carry out further research and begin the design process of your unique piece. Her drawings become the reference guides for the building of your sculpture. The process takes an average of 3 months, and this can vary depending on the complexity of the piece and the test samples needed for surface decoration.
Recipient of the experience will receive a bespoke ceramic sculpture designed for them, about them, by Sarah Schiewe, a certificate of authenticity, personalised letter. Sculpture will be hand delivered by the artist within a 50 mile radius of York, North Yorkshire. Customers outside of this area are welcome to collect their piece from The Owl & The Cat Distillery and Lounge Bar, 1 Rougier Street, YO1 6HZ York. Customers collecting from The Owl & The Cat Distillery and Lounge Bar will receive a complementary pair of tickets for their Gin Tasting Experience, which can be used on the day (subject to pre-booking a space).

The Bespoke Fine Art Ceramic Sculpture Experience with Schiewe Ceramics involves a one to one consultation with ceramic artist Sarah Schiewe. During your time together Sarah will discover your unique story and bring it to life in a bespoke sculpture.
Inspired by the work of ceramic artist Grayson Perry, Sarah began to play with illustration on hand-built clay forms when she specialised in sculpture and ceramics during her degree in Contemporary Crafts.
