Founded by adventurous couple, Abbie and Chris, who packed in their day jobs and travelled to Tasmania for inspiration, their distillery is now leading the way in green, small-batch spirits.

You’ll get the full lowdown on vacuum gin distillation, marvel at the only Tasmanian copper still in the Northern Hemisphere, and discover how their award-winning sustainable spirits are lovingly made.

Then it’s time to taste the magic: enjoy a fully guided tasting of at least six different spirits – think bold gins, characterful whiskies and more. Not drinking? No problem. Designated drivers get a complimentary sample to take home and sip in peace.

What will I get? You will receive a voucher to redeem against any of the future Cooper King Whisky and Gin Distillery Tours. If you choose the option with a £20 voucher to spend in the Cooper King shop you be able to redeem this against any of their spirits and gifts in the shop or bar. You may be in a group with other people.

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Can I exchange it? All of our vouchers are fully flexible. The recipient may swap to another experience if they don’t want the one that has been suggested.

How will it arrive? Our eco-friendly voucher boxes are available for £4.50 and will be sent via Royal Mail first class post. PDF e-vouchers are FREE and emailed shortly after ordering.

Cooper King Team outside the Distillery The Whisky and Gin Distillery Tour takes place just 10 miles from York city centre at the craft distillery run by founders Abbie and Chris.

Back in 2014, they packed in their careers (Abbie was a scientist, Chris an architect) and headed to Australia in search of a new adventure. It was in Tasmania, surrounded by independent whisky makers, that they first dreamed of setting up their own distillery back home.

Fast forward to today and that dream’s become a reality. They’ve built a sustainable distillery rooted in craftsmanship, flavour, and authenticity. Every bottle they produce tells a story – of bold Yorkshire ambition, doing things the right way, and sharing great drinks with good people.
