Spend an hour with the guys at Spirit of Yorkshire distillery and you will experience the passion and enthusiasm that goes into every drop produced here.
The distillery’s expert guides will tell you all about this age-old, hands-on process that is part science, part patience and part instinct. And you’ll round off the tour with a chance to try some of the Maturing Malt.
What to expect on the tour:
- An introduction to the Spirit of Yorkshire and its founders in the Distillery Boardroom
- An up close and detailed description of the distilling process alongside some of the largest copper pot stills in England
- Learn about how the unique choice of casks will influence the Maturing Spirit over the years as it evolves in to Yorkshire’s First Single Malt Whisky
- Rounding off with three tasters of Spirit of Yorkshire’s latest releases and maturing spirits

The One Hour Yorkshire Whisky Distillery Tour and Tasting is brought to you by Spirit of Yorkshire, a fledgling Whisky distillery in the Yorkshire Wolds. The company will be the first to produce a single malt whisky in Yorkshire and are passionate about using locally and sustainably produced ingredients. All the barley and spring water used is grown and sourced nearby on the family farm.
We’re obsessed with distilling, from grain to glass. Our instinctive approach is all about taking the best of tradition and applying new thinking. We didn’t set out to just replicate Scotch, but to create a whisky that is filled with our own unique spirit and that of our local area.
An excellent Yorkshire Afternoon Tea is also available at the distillery.
You'll find The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Hunmanby, just 20 minutes south of Scarborough or 15 minutes north of Bridlington, 10 minutes south-west of Filey on the A165.
The tour and tasting lasts one hour.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
The tour takes place in a working distillery therefore sensible footwear must be worn.
One hour introductory tours run 7 days a week at 11am, 1pm and 3pm (No 3pm tour on Sunday. Subject to availability)
The Spirit of Yorkshire distillery tour costs £18 for adults over the age of 18.
