A fascinating foodie experience suitable for anyone with an interest in healthy eating and the science behind gut health and the role fermented food plays.

Inside our bodies, there is a whole universe of forty trillion bacteria busy at work, transforming the food we eat, which is now understood to have a huge impact on our health in several ways. It’s great to know we can nurture and manipulate this through the food we eat. Fermented foods play a crucial role in feeding our gut microbiota.

In this fun and educational gut health class, Emily, the owner of Get Cooking, will help you understand more about what the gut microbiota is and what our amazing bacteria can do. She will then go on to show you how to prepare some fermented foods, easily from scratch so you will leave the course with knowledge to apply at home and with a selection of healthy fermented foods.

The gut health classes at Get Cooking are different to Emily’s other classes as the starting point is the science of gut health and the association it has with our overall wellbeing. The aim is to then create delicious fermented food based on scientific principles. The course is suitable for beginners and more experienced cooks alike. If you are interested in gut health you may like to start with the first class Feed yourself well. Both classes are designed to stand alone as well as complement one another.
