In this Learning Larder Cookery experience you will enjoy a three hour cookery demonstration with Michelin-starred chef Heléne Schoeman followed by lunch. You will have the opportunity to chat with your chef and learn from her wealth of knowledge gleaned from working alongside culinary icons like Marco Pierre White. Perfect for food enthusiasts of all levels, this experience combines education, inspiration, and a delicious meal.

Watch, learn, and ask questions as the chef prepares your meal in real time, sharing professional techniques, tips, and insights along the way. Explore how to elevate everyday dishes using seasonal ingredients, minimise food waste, and make the most of larder staples. This experience inspires creativity and builds confidence, giving you the tools to craft restaurant-worthy dishes in your own kitchen.

Start your session with a welcome drink and a breakfast pastry before diving into three hours of engaging culinary demonstrations. Then, sit down with your group of up to six people to enjoy the freshly prepared meal, savouring every bite while reflecting on all you’ve learned.

Each participant receives a copy of the day’s recipes, along with the freedom to take notes as desired. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned cook, this class promises to enhance your skills and deepen your appreciation for excellent food.

What will I get? You will receive a voucher to redeem against a Group Cookery Experience with a Michelin-star chef in York.

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Anything I should know?

You will receive a voucher which has a value of £120 and can be used to book any of The Learning Larder experiences up to the value of £120. These include: Bread Making, Baking Pastry, Poke & Buddha Bowls, Afternoon Tea, 30+ Plants in 1 Meal and Christmas Recipes. You may pay an upgrade fee of £10 to join the Fish Preparation class and £10 to join the Lamb cookery demonstration.
Each group experience, of up to 6 people, is 4 hours in length which comprises 3 hours for Heléne to demonstrate and the last hour to enjoy your meal with the group.
Please note: The classes are in an environment that handles all major allergens. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please get in touch before buying a voucher.

Can I exchange it? All of our vouchers are fully flexible. The recipient may swap to another experience if they don’t want the one that has been suggested.

How will it arrive? Our eco-friendly voucher boxes are available for £4.50 and will be sent via Royal Mail first class post. PDF e-vouchers are FREE and emailed shortly after ordering.
