Hosted at a spacious workshop on Navigation Wharf in Malton, this hands-on creative experience is perfect for anyone who loves artisan making, beautiful fragrances, natural ingredients and a proper day out. The morning is all about candle making, with guests learning about waxes, fragrance choices, containers and decoration before making their own 100% soy wax scented candles to take home.
After a relaxed shared lunch, with time to enjoy Malton’s lovely Market Place if they wish, the afternoon moves into traditional soap making. Guests will discover the chemistry, history and craft behind cold process soap making before blending their own palm oil free soaps using vegetable oils, waxes, dried botanicals, exfoliants and essential oil fragrances.
Guests will learn how real soap is made, how to spot the all-important “point of trace” and what happens next as their handmade soaps are cut and cured. They will leave with their own beautifully personal candles and six bars of signature natural soap, all made by hand during the day.
