This is an unusual and memorable gift for a group of up to 8 children who love adventure and spending time outdoors; the experience is totally hands-on giving children the opportunity to have a go and develop their skills. Participants should be aged 7 and over, and at least one adult will need to attend with the group.
Held in exclusive woodland which boasts a range of facilities to ensure an enjoyable experience whatever the weather, this is a totally hands-on experience aimed at children. Participants will enjoy a range of exciting activities and learn some useful life skills under the expert guidance of an experienced Forest School Leader.
The experience includes:
- Fire Lighting. Develop the techniques to light a fire with a firesteel.
- Den Building. Build a den together to keep out the elements.
- Challenge Games. Work as a team to overcome the challenges.
- Marshmallows. Of course! Whittle a stick and toast a marshmallow; yum!
We would particularly recommend this experience to celebrate a birthday, or as an opportunity for a group of friends to enjoy time together. We are also able to tailor this experience, for instance with longer durations and additional activities.
Once purchased, you will need to contact Forest Quest to arrange a mutually acceptable date and time for your experience, we recommend planning ahead to secure your preferred date. Forest Quest will also provide further details including directions to the wood and what to wear.

The Forest Experience – Two Hour Bushcraft Experience for Children near York
The Forest Experience is delivered by Forest Quest who have a woodland setting established for the purpose of instructing a range of bushcraft skills. The wood is on New Parks Estate just off the A19 near Huby, York.
Forest Quest is a family run Company led by instructor Wolf who is absolutely passionate about passing on valuable life-skills and encouraging a sense of well-being through practical activities in a woodland setting.
The Forest experience take place in picturesque woodland just off the A19 near Huby, on the outskirts of North York.
The experience is a 2 hour session.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.

This is aimed at children aged 7 to 15.
A two hour bushcraft session costs £140 for up to 8 children (aged 7 to 15).
To have a boxed and gift wrapped voucher sent by post will cost an additional £3.50.
