Ultimate Yorkshire Flight Experience – Combined Flying Lesson & Personalised Scenic Tour

This is an incredible, once in a lifetime, flight experience which combines a trial flying lesson with a personalised scenic flight around Yorkshire. Plan your bespoke route with your flight instructor and choose which of Yorkshire’s many beautiful destinations and landmarks you’d like to see from the air (subject to airspace restrictions and air traffic control). Fly past your home, school or place of work to capture stunning aerial photographs to treasure forever.

What to expect:

• Before take-off, you’ll receive a comprehensive pre-flight briefing, covering the mechanics of flight and the operation of the aircraft’s controls.
• Decide your flight path for the experience, choose from a number of scenic routes or plan a flyover of a location close to your heart
• Head out to the aircraft and take to the skies where you’ll have a full demonstration of the planes controls
• Now it’s over to you! Under your instructors’ careful guidance you’ll take command of the aircraft and be gripped by the excitement of flying.
• After a thrilling 90 minute flying adventure you’ll return to Sherburn where your pilot will skilfully land the aircraft before a debriefing session

Some example routes that could be covered in the 90 minute flight:

• York Minster: The historic York Minster is an iconic cathedral with stunning architecture and can be seen from the air as it stands out in the cityscape.
• York City: Fly over the city of York to get a bird’s-eye view of its historic streets, the city walls, and the beautiful River Ouse.
• Harewood House: This grand country house and estate, just north of Leeds, is surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland. A flyover provides a unique perspective of this stately home.
• Leeds City: Overfly the city of Leeds and take in the modern skyscrapers, historic architecture, and the scenic River Aire.
• Castle Howard: Located to the north of York, Castle Howard is a magnificent stately home and estate with beautiful gardens. A flight over this area offers a stunning view.
• Yorkshire Dales: Head west to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, rolling hills, and picturesque villages from above.
• Wharfedale: Fly over Wharfedale to see the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, including the River Wharfe and charming villages.
• Harrogate: Take a flight over the spa town of Harrogate to see its lush parks, elegant architecture, and the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms.
• The Humber Bridge: To the east, you can overfly the Humber Bridge, a massive suspension bridge that spans the Humber estuary.
• Selby Abbey: Located in the town of Selby, this historic abbey boasts impressive medieval architecture and is worth a flyover.
