Join the team at Hotham’s Rum School in Hull for a unique rum making experience for two people.
Upon your arrival you’ll both enjoy a Hotham’s Spiced Rum cocktail. You’ll join a group of other rum lovers, in the purpose-built Distilling Room.
You’ll smell and taste amazing spices, and choose the ones you like best for your own spiced rum. Your distiller will advise you on the quantities required, and you’ll soon have a balanced recipe ready.
You’ll learn about the distillation process whilst you enjoy a rum cocktail and you’ll be encouraged to taste your spice blend as it distils and your spices release their delicious flavours.
You even get to choose if you would like a white or dark rum!
You’ll get an insight into the history and characteristics of rum, and you’ll hear about the Hotham’s brand – their history, and a little about Lord Hotham himself. You’ll have plenty of time to try the very best rums, including their very own Hotham’s Spiced Rum.

Make Your Own Rum Experience for Two People in Hull
The Make Your Own Rum Experience for Two People in Hull takes place at Hotham’s Gin School and Distillery in Hull. Founders Emma and Simon met over a G&T back in January 2017. Their shared love of gin inspired their first date at a gin school in the Midlands, where they started to think about developing their own gin recipe. After a year of learning about the gin making process, and experimenting with recipes, they launched a micro-distillery, Hotham’s Handcrafted Gin and Hotham’s Cardamom Gin, and a Gin School. In 2021 they added their popular Rum School experience to the portfolio.

The Rum School Distilling Experience for Two takes approximately two and a half to three hours.
All of our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against any of our listed experiences. The recipient may exchange their voucher if they don't like the experience they have been bought. Just see our FAQs for details.
By law you must be 18 or over to participate. The school operate a 'Challenge 25' policy, so if you are lucky enough to look under 25 or are under 25, please take ID with you.
The Rum School Distilling Experience for Two costs £150 for two people including expert help in creating your recipe, distillation and bottling of your own rum to take home.
