This is a fantastic Family Package for four (2 adults and 2 school aged children) but please do get in touch if you want to add extra participants. After donning your Penistone Pie aprons you will all get involved in a morning of making either sausage rolls or bread depending on what your family would most enjoy. This is a really lovely way to spend quality family time together learning new skills in Jacqui’s delightful country kitchen.

If you’ve got animal loving children they’ll be able to feed Jacqui’s chickens and collect the eggs for baking from the hen coup.

This is a three hour workshop which includes lunch and refreshments.

When it comes to lunch you will either enjoy a Penistone Pies Ploughman’s lunch if you choose sausage roll making or a pizza lunch if you prefer the bread making workshop. This will be followed by a choice of two homemade cakes – which could include cream scones, chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle or carrot cake. Yummy!

You will take home the delicious treats you bake plus a personalised apron for each child. Personalised adult aprons can be added for the adults. Various colours are available.

How long do I have to book? You’ll have a total of 12 months from the date of purchase – 6 months to activate your voucher code, and 6 months from activation to book your chosen experience.

Family Cookery workshop near Sheffield

Jacqui Marsden of Penistone Pies and Puddings runs the Family Cookery workshop from her farmhouse kitchen in Penistone near Sheffield.

She makes her pies using a recipe that has been in her family for three generations and using a piece of machinery that her grandfather bought in an auction of Second World War army surplus equipment in the 1940s. The vintage pie-making machine ‘Little Champion’ was sold in the 1970’s when Jacqui’s grandfather sold his business but returned to the family by chance when her father, also a pork pie maker, bought it from a seller in the local newspaper.

Other workshops from Penistone Pies include: a pork pie and picallili making workshop, a pork pie and pasty making workshop and an Italian cookery workshop.
